Getting into the Christmas spirit

“It’s beginning to look a lot like …”

Well, you know how the line from that song goes, right?

As Christian Tours’ Chris Massie says: “It’s never too early to start planning holiday tours.”

With that thinking in mind, Senior Staff Writer Amanda Black’s theme feature, titled “Ho-ho holidays: Winter’s arrival perfect time to ‘get into the Christmas spirit and jump-start the season,’” focuses on this most wonderful time of year.

The article is all about embracing the holidays and all the festivities surrounding them as celebrated in the southeastern United States.

As Black writes: “When it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, many groups include a production or live Nativity show in their holiday plans.”

Her “Yuletide delights” sidebar shares “Five small towns big on Christmas cheer.”

The Worldview international feature and accompanying itinerary by Staff Writer Erin Albanese about Salzburg, Austria, is “An Austrian Christmas.”

She writes: “It is a bustling hub of winter festivity. Christkindl markets, which have been emulated around the world; Advent markets and decorations galore mark the season as visitors gather in scads to say ‘Frohe Weihnachten!’ (‘Merry Christmas’).”

A gentle reminder: Don’t forget the real reason for the season celebrated on Dec. 25.

Also, Content Marketing Director Aaron Ogg writes about a year-long celebration in 2013: Florida’s feting of Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León’s arrival on its eastern shores five centuries ago. And Black writes about the 50th anniversary of the civil rights movement in her feature titled “Embracing the dream.”
